Cordless baby monitors seem to be a great invention however you may be exposing your baby to major health challenges by using one.

The problem

Many cordless baby monitors may have the same electromagnetic issues as mobile and cordless phones as they operate within the same parameters. Also some emit high levels of magnetic fields due to the transformer. Baby monitors can be running on various frequencies and outputs dependant upon the model and brand. Some have under bed pads also which the baby sleeps on which is like fixing one hazard but potentially creating another. The baby is now exposed to electrical fields, radio frequency fields, magnetic fields and dirty electricity because of the devices and wiring.

Solution to the problem

We strongly recommend baby monitors are not placed near babies as they have very immature defence systems to battle such an onslaught. Placing your baby within sight whilst he/she is sleeping is one solution and placing the baby's cot in your bedroom with you is another idea.
