Environomics detects and alerts you to the invisible hazards of Electromagnetic Radiation within your environment that may severely impact upon health. The human body has never been exposed so many types or intensities of electromagnetic radiation in history that we are aware of…and all at once. Studies have never been done on the effects of having all of the above sources of electromagnetic radiation running at once close to humans, especially babies or the elderly whose body defence systems are usually less than optimal. However some common symptoms linked with over exposure are fatigue, mental impairment, joint pain, low hormone levels, fertility problems,  and skin complaints.

Electromagnetic Radiation Field Types we test for:

Electric Fields

This is one of two fields found on our everyday 50Hz power lines (the other field is magnetic). Every home appliance will emit this field. It can jump across furnishings and travel around unseen trying to get back to "ground"/earth. It travels easily through the human body.

Electric fields occur when you have alternating currents (AC). This is what the power lines supply to our homes. The field is measured in volts per meter (V/m).

The field normally drops away from the source at the rate of 1: ¼. For example, if a reading was 8V/m at the source then 1metre away it would measure ¼ of that, which is 2V/m.

Magnetic Fields

This is the second of the two fields found on our everyday 50Hz power lines (the other field is electric).  Wiring, power lines and every appliance will emit this field.

Magnetic fields drop away with distance and they easily radiate through brick walls and concrete. They can be very difficult to shield out.

Paired or unpaired electrical cabling that is producing or supplying electricity creates magnetic fields. The strength of the field is dependant upon the cabling or wiring arrangement and/or the use of transformers within the arrangement.

Dirty Electricity

(also called: Electro smog or Radio Frequency Interference (RFI))

Dirty Electricity is stray radio frequencies created by the immense numbers of electronics in our world that latch onto regular 50Hz electrical wiring in buildings. This electrical pollution is then distributed throughout the building via the wiring creating “dirty electricity fields”.

Scientists consider "dirty electricity" (4kHz to 100kHz) to be the most biologically active (meaning harmful) of the electromagnetic frequencies. Environomics is yet to find a place with acceptable levels of this invisible phenomenon.

Dirty Electricity emanates from devices such as:

• CFL globes (yes, those globes you are being urged to install)
• Plasma TV
• DECT Cordless Phones
• Solar Panels
• Smart Meters

Unpulsed High Frequency

Unpulsed high frequency means that the device creates constant exposure to high levels of the most critical type of HF radiation known throughout the entire home or office. HF waves include radio and television waves, AM, FM, longwave, shortwave, radar and microwaves. These HF waves produce a heating effect on the body (think of our bodies cooking!). Furthermore, a number of non-heating effects are currently being researched, such as nerve irritation and the interference of the body's communication systems. HF begins at around 100,000 vibrations per second (100 Kilohertz) and goes up to around 300 Gigahertz. Devices such as mobile phones, communication towers, wireless devices, cordless phones and Wii toys generate these unpulsed frequencies.

Pulsed High Frequency

This is within the same frequency range as unpulsed high frequency but the devices concerned are set-up to deliver the radiation in a different manner. Pulsed radiation permeates a building with a rapid on/off/on/off signal as opposed to the unpulsed which is a constant signal. Devices such as mobile communications equipment, wireless devices, cordless phones and baby monitors generate these frequencies.
